Hello, Laziness
At the moment, just a bellwether of things to come. If you're a regular Slashdot or MSNBC reader, you might have heard of Corinne Maier's Bonjour Paresse, a white-collar call-to-arms for Better Living Through Slack. This is an unauthorised translation, still in early alpha stages; I'll be posting chapters as time goes on.

Kato, Ninja Server
I wanted to build a mini-ITX server to handle various things around the house. When the parts arrived, I didn't have a case, so I went with the cheapest option I could find: build it in the box it came in. Includes pictures and vague justification.

Update: Sadly, Kato got misplaced during a move, and I haven't built a replacement yet. I guess that's the danger of building a server that's technically camouflaged as something to recycle...

The Military Commissions Act Flowchart
On September 29th, Congress sent the Military Commissions Act to the White House for approval. I've seen a lot of furor and confusion over who it does and doesn't apply to, so based on my (non-lawyer) reading of the bill, I created a flowchart to simplify things a bit. (There's some explanation of my reasoning here, as well.)

And, just for the record: I think this is a bad law. I think it's a very bad law, and I want to see it overturned. I made this chart to help people who want to see it overturned, and who want to help people who are being unfairly detained. Get involved, and raise a fuss about it! Just please, make sure you're as well informed as you can be. Spreading fear, uncertainty and doubt isn't going to help anyone.
